Shanghai Centre Tops 50 Stories
Shanghai Centre officially topped out its hotel tower on 17 November, making it the tallest building in Shanghai. Standing at 166 meters, this 50-story building is the first of three towers to be completed that will dominate the Shanghai skyline.
A topping out ceremony was held on 22 November. From the ground level the partners, architects and contractors watched as the 10-meter "topping out tree" was hoisted to the roof of the hotel. Then a small group moved up to the 50th floor to place the last cubic foot of concrete and enjoy a spectacular view of Shanghai.
