Get Ready - The World is Coming to an End
The four ages- Hesiod, Hindu, Mayan

If you were a camera, facing out from the equator of the Sun, you would see the circle of stars which surrounds the Solar Plane. Year in and year out, you would see the same star patterns over and over. After a while, you would start giving the patterns names. "There is the Bull again, and the Ram and the Fish." Twice every Earth year, you would notice a tiny blip as the orbit of the Earth cuts across the solar plane.

On Earth, these are the days of the equinoxes. The length of the day equals that of the night. If you and your family had been watching sheep late at night, for a couple of thousand years, you too would have names for the constellations and you might have noticed that the Sun rises in the same constellation every spring on the day of the equinox. Little by little; however, the Sun moves though the constellation. It takes the Sun about 2300 years to enter into the next one. In 25,000 years, it has gone full circle and it's right back where it started.

Of course, the Earth is the one that is moving around the Sun--or is it all relative?

The name which we give the apparent path of the Sun through our sky is "The Zodiac", from the Greek, the "Circle of Animals".

The theme of this book is that mythology is history and that the ages of the zodiac are expressed in myths and give us clues to their meanings.
